I made a ham and cheese sandwich and a café au lait for my breakfast. I took a factory tour of the Canon Eco Technology Park in Matate starting at 10:00 AM. I made a reservation online a month ago. To my surprise, I was the only one there today. Two female staffs guided me. This is Canon's recycling center for used toner and ink cartridges, and they also remanufacture office multifunction printers. The recycling process is automated, with very few workers. However, the remanufacturing of multifunction printers requires skilled workers for the disassembly and assembly stages. I saw dozens of people working there. The viewing corridor is separated by walls and windows, so I couldn't enter the work areas. However, I was able to see and understand the work process quite well through the windows. There were also remote monitors. The vast building was clean, completely free of odors, dust, and noise. I was able to understand Canon's consistent and systematic approach to SDGs, from product design to production, transportation, and recycling. The tour lasted about 70 minutes. It was a very interesting experience. In the afternoon, I filled up my gas of my FJ at Costco. I also bought a hot dog and had it for my lunch. I had vegetable soup, grilled atsuage, granola yogurt, and café au lait for my evening meal. |

I had egg and sausage, vegetable soup, granola yogurt, and café au lait for my breakfast. April 2nd and 3rd will be almost full moons. I checked the moonrise time and azimuth. The Geographical Survey Institute's online map draws a line when you input the azimuth, and then you print it out. This allows you to determine the shooting point based on the moonrise direction and the subject. While smartphone apps can show the moonrise direction in real time, they're difficult to see in the dark. So, I started creating maps in advance to find shooting points. It's more reliable. Miya-O is also participating in the full moon photography project. Well, she's just getting in the way. The cherry blossoms aren't in full bloom yet. However, depending on the weather forecast, it might rain when they reach their peak. So today I went around to several cherry blossom shooting spots and took pictures, including the bell tower of Saikoin Temple, the Tone River embankment, and Yasaka Park. . |

I woke up before dawn to a thick fog. Opportunity strikes suddenly. I packed my gear and headed out to photograph the paper mill. I arrived at the shooting spot, but the fog was too thick to see anything. I tried another shooting spot that suits fog, the Shimosa-Tone Bridge, but it was still too thick. I went back to the paper mill and waited for dawn. As the sun rose, the light increased and the factory emerged from the fog. The water vapor became a silhouette and seemed more abundant than usual. I was able to take different photos than the last time I photographed the paper mill in the fog, whether they were good or bad is another matter. I had grilled atsage, a tomato and lettuce salad, and leftover yakisoba from yesterday for my breakfast. I had two liters of milk that was two weeks past its expiration date. Two weeks ago, I accidentally bought more than usual. To make matters worse, they were in the spare refrigerator and I overlooked them. So, when I got hungry, I drank milk. Then, I tried making instant chicken ramen with milk. Not bad. |

![]() I made and had vegetable soup for my breakfast. Today was Saturday English class. I joined at 10:00. I took pictures of cherry blossoms in several locations this afternoon. Katori Shrine in Nagaya has pink Yoko cherry blossoms. Two young women in formal attire were having their picture taken with their family. An elderly woman said they were both her grandchildren, and she seemed very proud. Yoko cherry blossoms are a hybrid variety created by crossing Amagi Yoshino and Kanhizakura. They have large flowers, 4-5 centimeters in diameter, with a deep pink color and firm petals. They are also known as Beni Yoshino (Crimson Yoshino). They bloom a little earlier than Somei Yoshino, from mid- to late March. This cherry tree is resistant to diseases and pests, and can withstand both heat and cold. I made sauce yakisoba with lots of vegetables for my evening meal. I also had tofu, granola yogurt, and milk. |

I had vegetable soup, a fried egg, lettuce, sweet potato, granola yogurt, and café au lait for my breakfast. I went to Chikusei City to attend the monthly meeting of the Photo Kano Club. Today, Mr. Kamakura was absent, so it was just Mr. Tokunou and me at the meeting. I had seiro soba at my favorite soba restaurant Kimura. The soba noodles from Kimura and Katanaya are quite similar. It's a shame I can't compare them side-by-side. On my way home from a soba restaurant, I discovered a stone Buddha stupa by the roadside in Takasuka, Tsukuba City. Due to erosion from wind and rain, its shape is unclear, and the inscription is illegible. I searched around for a suitable location to take photos of the full moon and cherry blossoms in full bloom. I made a salad with lettuce, tomatoes, and burdock root. I also made vegetable soup and cucumber in vinegar for my evening meal. |

My wife went to a community gymnastics class in Ueda City this morning. I went for a walk to take pictures. I visited the Ninomaru Bridge at Ueda Castle Ruins Park and the main gate of Ueda High School. The cherry blossoms hasn't bloomed yet. We met up at Katanaya for lunch and had soba noodles together. The seat they showed me to had good lighting, so I was able to take delicious-looking photos of the soba noodles and tempura. Afterwards, I bought three packs of five Jiman-yaki (a type of Japanese sweet) that I had reserved at Fuji Ice Cream, and left Ueda. I photographed the fifth of the 100 Kannon statues in Tomi City. I got onto the Nagano Expressway from Komoro Interchange. I arrived in Iwai around 5 PM. Miya-O was relaxing. I had vegetable soup and a Jimanyaki for my evening meal. |

My wife made breakfast. My son went to work as usual. It was cloudy today and rained in the afternoon. My wife and I visited one Buddhist temple, two Shinto shrines in Ueda City. It's located along the National Route 18 bypass. The entire journey was on foot. This was both to observe the surroundings carefully and for health reasons. I don't need to pay close attention to the scenery on my way back. So, I wanted to use a rental bicycle or public bus for half of the journey, but my wife didn't agree. It was solely for the sake of my health. The first one was 虚空蔵堂(Kokuzoudou). It houses the Bodhisattva of the Void. 386 Tokiwa-jo, Ueda City. 上田市常磐城386 Next, we visited 生塚神社(Ikuzuka Shrine). Both the main hall and the chapel were newly constructed. The principal deity of Ikuzuka Shrine itself is 弥都波能売神(Mizuhanome-no-kami). Within the shrine grounds, there were four smaller shrines: Akaiwa Shrine, Konpira Shrine, Kotai Shrine, Tenjin Shrine, and Saguchi Shrine. These are small shrines dedicated to deities related to the main deity. And there was a trailhead for Mount Taro. Next was 愛宕神社(Atago Shrine). From the stone torii gate, 171 stone steps stretched straight ahead. There were no switchbacks. I had never seen such a long stone staircase before. It was a magnificent sight. The founding date is unknown, but it has long been revered as the guardian deity and tutelary god of the region since its early days of settlement. Currently, the great deity of 浅間神社(Senngenn Shrine) and the deity of (古峰神社)Furumine Shrine are also enshrined there. We wanted to visit one more shrain, but we were getting hungry, so we decided against it. It was about 4 kilometers from Atago Shrine to my favorite soba restaurant Katanaya. The last order was at 2:30. We can walk 4 kilometers in 60 minutes. So, we should have plenty of time. Or so we thought. We arrived at Katanaya just before 2:30. But the Noren(shop curtain) was already taken down. It was closed. They probably closed early because they sold out of soba. We went to a different soba restaurant, but ther noren was already gone. The last one was Chikumagawa, a soba restaurant located inside the Ueda station building. The soba here isn't similar to the soba at Katanaya, but it's not bad. Except for the high price. So, it's my last resort when I really want to eat soba. My wife made grilled chicken and chicken rice for our evening meal. I |

My wife made omelets, salad, granola yogurt, and café au lait for our breakfast. My son went to work as usual. My wife and I drove along the Nagano Expressway to the Yachiho Kogen Interchange. There's a roadside station nearby called Yachiho Kogen. We gathered information about tourist spots in central Nagano Prefecture at the visitor center. We got several free leaflets. There was a Montbell Sakuho store inside the same roadside station. My wife bought a daypack. We had soba noodles at a restaurant here. My wife made stir-fried lotus root and beef with tomatoes for our evening meal. |

My wife made me fried eggs, stir-fried vegetables, and café au lait for our breakfast. We also had the ohagi (sweet rice cakes) that my wife's aunt, who visited yesterday, gave us. In the afternoon, my wife and I visited my father-in-law at a nursing home Yumesainoie in Sakai Tow. Visiting time was limited to 15 minutes. This was probably for infection prevention purposes. I went to Ueda with my wife. We arrived in Ueda at 6:00. |

I grilled atsuage and made a salad with lettuce and tomatoes. My wife made stir-fried turnips, and cafe au lait. We had them, and granola yogurt for our breakfast. My wife and I visited my wife's best friend who lives in Moriya City. And we had a soba party. My wife made soba noodles, and I made braised pork spare ribs at my home. Her friend made kenchin soup and dessert. We had them togather at her hause. I enjoyed chatting with her and her hasband. It was good time. My cousin's homemade Sekihan arrived. My wife made a salad and kinpira. We had them for our evening meal. My wife and I walked to COMPAL. COMPAL is an old bar in Iwai. It was already there when I was a child. There was an open mic event tonight, and Tokunou also performed. His singing and guitar playing are excellent. Tonight, he also performed a Minyou(Japanese folk song) accompanied by his shamisen. It was even better than his guitar playing. The other three performers were also wonderful. My wife and I enjoyed. |

I took a picture of the ebideiko I made yesterday. Actually, I skipped the mentori process for the daikon radish. Mentori is the process of trimming the edges of ingredients to make them look nicer and prevent them from falling apart during cooking. Whether or not you have mentori makes a big difference in appearance. I realized this more strongly after taking a picture. The taste and texture are slightly different too. From now on, I will definitely use mentori. I had ebideiko, tomato, lettuce, inari sushi, and café au lait for my breakfast. I parked my FJ Cruiser in the parking lot at Shimizu Park Station. I went to Ebisu via Omiya to watch photo exhibition at TOP Museum. TOP is Tokyo photographic art Museum. It was a photography exhibition by Eugene Smith. "W. Eugene Smith and the New York Loft Era" He was a photographer for Life magazine. He published his photobook Minamita in 1972. At the time, I was 19 years old and had just started taking photography seriously. I was deeply impressed by his Minamata, and it has influenced my own style. However, I don't know anything about him other than Minamata. That's why I wanted to wach this exhibition. It was very good. I recommend it to photography lovers. I met my wife at Omiya Station at 3 o'clock. She returned from Ueda. We went home together. We had dinner at our favorite spaghetti restaurant called Sanpomichi. It's been almost a year since my last visit. My go-to dish at Sanpomichi is the spaghetti baked in aluminum foil. The spaghetti coated in rich seafood and cheese is absolutely delicious. My wife had the peperoncino with rapeseed blossoms and shrimp. |

I made minestrone-style soup, tomato and lettuce salad, granola yogurt, and café au lait for my breakfast. I went to Shuroku, which is next to Torisen. there is the perfect plase. There are several downlights lined up and spotlights. If you place your subject there, it's just like a photo studio. The background is also stylish and fashionable. I decided to take commemorative photos here of my cameras and photographic equipment I liked. What's more, admission is free, and hardly anyone visits. In fact, today I was able to take photos for about 60 minutes without being disturbed by anyone. The today photos were an EOS 6D Mark II equipped with a Steinheil Munchen Cassar 1:4.5 f=105mm VL lens (No. 678458) mounted on a Gitzo Rational No. 4. Photographed with Canon FD 50mm 1:1.8 S.C. No.498932 I made ebideko( small shrimp and daikon radish simmered in soy sauce) and vegetable soup for my lunch. I made spaghetti with clams, carrots, bell peppers, onions, and cheese for my evening meal. |

I made and ate a tomato and lettuce salad, granola yogurt, and a café au lait for my breakfast. I went for regular checkups at the internal medicine clinic and the ophthalmology clinic in the morning. There were no particular changes, so they are just monitoring my condition. In the afternoon, we sprayed herbicides. I used two types: a glyphosate-based herbicide and a mixed herbicide containing 2.4.D. and MCPP. I went to Yasaka Park. It was a location scouting trip to photograph cherry blossoms. I made and ate a rice bowl topped with braised pork spare ribs. This time, I also added chopped tomatoes and bell peppers. |

I woke up early. I made a sandwich with ham, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. The trick is to wipe the lettuce and tomato with a paper towel to reduce the moisture. I had them and cafe au leait for my breakfast. You can get a Poskuma if you use the Yu-Pack smartphone discount three times. Apparently, I had used it three times without realizing it. I received it. My wife really liked it, so I decided to give it to her. I went to Yasaka Park to scout for a good shooting point cherry blossoms. Of course, the blossoms were still in bud, but I went to scout locations to select spots for when they are in full bloom and to choose the lenses and equipment I would use. I made and ate a rice bowl topped with braised pork spare ribs and grilled pumpkin, daikon radish, and broccoli for my evening meal. |

It still works perfectly fine. That yellow tin is a very famous tea from Ireland. |

I baked graham bread in my electric automatic bread maker. I set the timer so it would be ready at 5 o'clock. I received two lettuces from my cousin Mori san yesterday. I had five inari sushi that I bought at Torisen yesterday, lettuce, vegetable soup, and café au lait for my breakfast. I went to Sakai Police Station to renew my driver's license a little after 10 AM. A new building for the traffic division had been constructed. I received a numbered ticket indicating my place and waited. When it was my turn and I started the process on the online terminal, my daypack fell off the table. The thermos bottle that was in my daypack's side pocket fell upside down onto the floor with force. The lid came off and the café au lait spilled everywhere. Two young female police officers cleaned it up. I felt terribly sorry. There was nothing I could do but say I was sorry. I probably said it about 12 times. Since I had already taken the senior citizen's course, all I needed to do was have my eyesight checked and my photo taken. It needed one hour. In the afternoon, I went to iias in Tsukuba. Walking from one end to the other and back was about 600m. Since it has three floors, I walked up and down each floor once, so I walked 1800m in total. There was an exhibit of old Macintosh computers on the second floor. It brought back memories. If I had known more about computers back in 1980, I probably would have bought a Mac. I ate nigiri sushi that I bought at Torisen for my evening meal. Come to think of it, it's been a long time since I last went to a sushi restaurant. To put it bluntly, you can get pretty much the same taste from Torisen's packaged sushi. Compared to when I was a child, it's become so much easier to enjoy nigiri sushi. Of course, there's a huge difference in taste, and the beauty and atmosphere are vastly different. However, I doubt the difference justifies the cost difference. |

I made a soup with pumpkin, vegetables, and soba for my breakfast. I went to visit my cousin who is battling an illness. I had been a while since I'd seen him. Shuroku is next to Torisen. This former sake brewery has now been renovated into a complex that includes a multipurpose hall and a cultural, historical, and tourist information center. I'd never really looked inside before, so I decided to explore. There was a glassblowing workshop. Craftsman was working. A sake brewery had been converted into a hall. There was a group doing jazz dance. I took a few photos. The structure of the sake brewery could be used as a background for something. Next time, I'll try bringing a subject to photograph. I had squid tempura, kakiage, and norimaki sushi that I bought at Torisen for my evening meal. |

Ah, after reviewing it several times, I finally realized my mistake and as a result, my withholding tax will be fully refunded. The wind has been strong all day today. I broken one egg when I move eggs from paper package to my refrigerator. IS cocked and had it for my breakfast with a toast, tomato, soup, and cafe au lait. I spent the whole day today filing my income tax return. I create financial statements using accounting software on my computer. Then I transfer that information to the free e-tax tax return form provided online by the National Tax Agency and process it. There is also a way to file online directly from the accounting software on my computer, but that requires an annual software update fee of 40,000 yen. That's what I used to do before e-tax came along. My wife also seems to be filed her tax return using e-tax online in Ueda. Miyao is good at getting in the way of my work. Well, she is cute though. I made soup with chicken meatballs, potato, and vegetables for my evening meal. I also had tofu, sliced tomatoes. |

Yesterday, I received two yomogi(mugwort) mochi filled with an anko(bean paste) from my younger brother. His neighborhood made them and gave him. I had one of them for my breakfast. I also had boiled spinach with mayonnaise, vegetable soup, the leftover sandwich, and cafe au lait. Yomogi mochi is a seasonal delight made of mochi dough kneaded with fresh mugwort leaves and stuffed with anko (sweet bean paste). Making these at home is a cherished springtime tradition in Japan. The combination of the aroma of mugwort, the sweetness of the bean paste, and the texture of the mochi is absolutely delicious, and it's one of my favorite foods that makes you feel like spring is here. The arugula I planted in a pot has bloomed. I'll use it as a condiment. I made a cream stew with salmon, carrots, onions, and potatoes. I had it for my lunch and my evening meal. Last night, I felt dizzy and spinning when I turned over in my bed. For a moment, I thought I was bleeding from my brain. Whow! My life is over. But I was so sleepy, I went back to sleep. Then I woke up in the morning. When I tried to get up, I felt like I was spinning around for a few seconds. However I didn't have any other symptoms - headache, nausea, or motor dysfunction - I was convinced I had BPPV. BPPV stands for Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo.(良性突発性頭位めまい症) Benign: Not a serious, life-threatening condition. Paroxysmal: Occurs suddenly and subsides after a short time. Positional: Triggered by changing head position. Vertigo: Rotational vertigo, in which you or your surroundings seem to be spinning around. BPPV occurs when "ear stones" (otoconia), break loose from the Rankeinou(utricle) and move into the Sanhankikan(semicircular canals). This make the false signals to the brain that you are spinning. So, you can avoid this dizziness by moving your head slowly. It will go away after about three days. I |

I made Chicken Ramen with lots of vegetables. You can't see the noodles, but it's Chicken Ramen. Chicken Ramen is a convenient dish that turns into ramen after 3 minutes of adding hot water. In my case, I use the broth from boiling lots of vegetables instead of hot water. I had it for my breakfast. I also had grilled atsuage. I went to Mizukaido Toyota at 9:30 and had my FJ's annual inspection done. I had made an appointment a month in advance. While the work was being done, I enjyoied the coffee they sarved and edited my picture diary on my laptop I had brought with me. It was raining today, so I avoided going out far. I bought two Katudon bentos at Iwamoto Bento Shop. One for me and the other for my younger brother. So, for my lunch, I had Katudon bento and vegetable soup.I Recently, Mia-O has breakfast, gets her medicine, and then sleeps here until around 3pm. Almost every day. I made and had braised Hakusai beef tendon stew, sliced tomatoes, apples, anko mochi, for my breakfast. I also had homemade onion bread, and cafe au lait. The beef tendon stew is ready-made, but it is high in salt, so I add Hakusai and double the amount, eating it over two days. This is one way I control my salt intake. I had inari sushi, tofu, tomato, cucumber, and Hakusai soup for my evening meal. I made a bellows specifically for the Sankyo Koki W-KOMURA UNIAUTO f=28mm 1:3.5, which I modified last month. The original was an Asahi Pentax bellows unit. I cut off the unnecessary parts. I shortened the rod by 40mm. I added one more screw to tighten the rod. And I shaved off any parts that interfered with the camera cage frame, and then painted it with matte black heat-resistant paint. I then baked it at 150°C for 10 minutes. It's easier to use and looks cooler. |
